My ‘Community’ would apply to both meanings of the definition below and consist of my family, friends, neighbours and neighbourhood.  I often feel that we live in a small village in the big city and there is so much generosity, support, sharing and kindness around us.  With most of our immediate family overseas, we don’t have a lot of support.  However, we have friends that have embraced us and treat us like their family.  We are so lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives.

The word community means so much to me and gathering, sharing and celebrating we shall do! This page is about our food experiences and the good old-fashioned things that we encounter day-to-day when we stop to smell the ‘flours’ in our busy, hectic lives!

The term community has two distinct commutative meanings:
1) Community usually refers to a social unit larger than a small village that shares common values. The term can also refer to the national community or international community, and
2) in biology, a community is a group of interacting living organisms sharing a populated environment.
