Oh my gosh!  Pizza Rolls!!!  These are pretty nostalgic for me and I can remember buying the frozen ones and baking them in the oven.  They were our go-to appetizer and party food!  I don’t see these around too much anymore, but did we ever adore Pizza Rolls!!!  I have come up with a homemade version that the kids can’t stop eating!!!

Cheese and Salami

Just like any pizza, the fillings are your choice!  I kept it simple and just did salami and cheese.  Add mushrooms, peppers, pineapple anything you want!  Just make sure that you chop everything up finely!  It makes the roll easier!  The key ingredients are cheese and Egg Roll Wraps! These square wrappers are so easy to work with and so delicious once lightly fried.

Just stuff and roll!  To assemble, just lay one egg roll wrapper onto the table, diamond way. In the middle of each wrapper add 1 heaping spoonful of cheese and a bit of salami and or veggies.  Fold up the corner to cover the fillings.

Then fold in the sides and roll until you are almost at the end.  Finally, dip your fingers in water and trace around the edges and complete your roll and seal.  That is it!

If you have too many, you can put these on a tray and freeze them, when frozen transfer them to a zip-lock bag. They are then lightly fried in oil until they are hot and golden.  Drain on a paper towel.

Heat up your favourite tomato or pizza sauce, sprinkle with fresh parsley.  Such a great little snack for you and for kids!  Dip and enjoy these oozing with cheese delightful Pizza Rolls!

Oozing with cheese and succulent salami, these pizza rolls are wrapped in a soft, but slightly crispy egg roll wrapper for the perfect snack! Add any of your favourite fillings and so easy to make. Dip them in a warm tomato sauce!
Recipe type: Snack, Appetizer, Kids
Serves: 24 rolls
  • 2-3 cups of grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni or salami, chopped
  • 1-2 cups of your favourite tomato sauce
  • Finely diced green and red peppers (optional)
  • 1 package of small square Egg Roll Wraps
  • A bowl of water for sealing the roll
  • Extra-virgin olive oil for frying
  • Tomato sauce for dipping, heated
  • Finely chopped parsley
  1. In a large bowl, combine veggies and salami
  2. Place 1 heaping spoonful of the cheese and a bit of the fillings in the center of each egg roll wrapper
  3. Fold bottom corner over filling; fold sides toward center
  4. Moisten remaining corner with water and roll up tightly to seal. Repeat until package is finished
  5. In a a fry pan, cover the bottom with oil on medium-high heat.
  6. Wait till it is hot then fry the pizza rolls until hot and golden brown.
  7. Turn heat down to medium if browning to quickly.
  8. Drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve with warmed tomato sauce
